Many Special Education students learn skills that can help them in future job settings. Attendance, endurance, movement, and on task behavior are all things that lead to a better worker and a potential employment opportunity. However, some activities need to be modified. In this case the paper shredder required too great a degree of fine motor skills to correctly position the paper. At ATC one of the volunteers adapted a shredder with a paper guide and placed the unit on a larger receptacle. Now a wider variety of students can successfully accomplish the task.
